What is it with some guys wanting to take their shirts off in public at any opportunity they see?

What’s going on here boys? What is the psychology? Don’t tell me it’s about cooling off either! I don’t buy that, being shaded on a hot day is better than direct sunlight.

Yeah its the same thing with these ladies, that want to wear yoga pants, or booty shorts, or low cut shirts with the cleavage out. I mean you can see their ass cheeks, and boobs... and I ain't going lie yoga pants hid nothing. Now I am not offended or anything, but it breaks down in to two categories; 1. the ones that want the attention and are looking for it, 2. the ones that act like they don't want the attention then claim its only about comfort.

I am not buying the comfort argument either, its total BS. Because I will promise you that if the most comfortable out fit in the world made a chick look fat, ugly or unattractive they would not wear it no matter how comfortable it is. So on some level they all want the attention, until they get it from someone they don't want it from.

So these guys are more or less doing the same thing, and having fun with it. Only difference is that men always love the attention on some level, and don't get so easily offended when it comes from someone they would prefer it didn't come from.

Have to say I don't get it either. Here in Britain, the slightest whiff of warn weather and off come the tops. Even if it's only about 70 degrees. I have lived in the US and am used to 100 degrees so I still have several layers on when it's 70 degrees. Still have my thermals on too. It got to 104 degrees here in July and I was still wearing long johns, full length jeans and a t shirt and wasn't remotely hot.

It's more to do with 'look at me' than cooling off. In their eyes it makes them look tough. They don't and aren't. A thin white t' shirt is not going to make you overheat and is more respectful for those around you.

I get it cooling off in your back garden or a beach but not wandering around the streets. That's uncouth in my eyes.

It's not so much the nakedness that annoys as the reasoning why they do it.

I know that the situation is important- if at a football game it's probably just being silly- if on the street and on his own then it's either boiling, he's showing off, or wants to look like a hardass and a tough guy.

If on the street with friends then probably just because they're messing around.

Either way- it's a behaviour that even I, as a man, find difficult to explain.

Unless there's a reason for it, they're probably just showing off.

I'll take mine off if I'm exercising, or working outside, simply because it is actually a lot more comfortable, and easier to work, without the fabric clinging to you, or getting soaked through with sweat.

Usually because it's hot outside and more comfortable to go without. But on the other hand, it's also like women wearing revealing clothing in the summer -- one, due to the temperature, and the other, the biological urge to attract potential mates. Nothing wrong with either.

Personally, I don't like exposing my nipples in public. Also I have a concaved chest, so add a sprinkle of self-consciousness into the mix. I would at least wear a tank top.

If you're talking about fit guys, then you know why...

If you're talking about men with "dad bods" or pot bellies and "moobs" (man boobs), then it's either laziness or that they don't want to sweat in their clothes. But it's mostly laziness and they dgaf.
