What does it mean when a guy friend/co worker makes you food at work to make sure you've eaten?

As the title says, I was on my break with my friend who was eating her lunch and a guy friend/coworker shouted to me to ask where my lunch was, I told him I wasn't having anything to eat as I didn't want anything, I also knew I had an appointment soon.

When he went to the kitchen he did a slice of toast for me and brought it out. I thought this was incredibly kind and fully didn't expect it.

Nothing but being kind unless you suspect he likes you.

I have made done nice things for my co-workers both men and women and they have done it for me. Just being kind.
