What does it mean when a guy posts a picture of himself? on his stories?

Rude responses will be blocked and reported. anyways So this guy is my crush. He always stares at me in person but we never actually talked yet. its always the staring game. He always watches my stories. I noticed he watches them if its a picture of me. He never really posts much on his page. but today he posted a picture of himself and I can't help but think why? is he trying to get attention from someone else. Why do men post themselves? same reason women do right? for attention. if so who's attention? When I checked his page I didn't see anyone new in his comments or anything.

anyways that's the backstory. thoughts? am I overthinking it? I just really like him and have been thinking of approaching him.
