What animals SCARE you the most?

I have a list of the top 10 animals that are just frikin' terrifying, and mostly because they're DANGEROUS.

I will hug any animal if I know it won't eat me. I LOVE ALL ANIMALS, but there are some i DO NOT want to cross.

1. Hippos. these rat bastards will GORE you

2. The reticulated python. THESE rat bastards eat PRIMATES and can get up to 350 pounds.

3. Tapeworms. Don't get me started

4. Scorpions. We used to live in Tucson, Arizona, and you could always find these at night.

5. Polar Bears. These guys will stalk their prey for days. Hungry males will eat the babies. No thanks!

6. Orcas. Any animal that hunts in a pack is bound to be terrifying.

7. Piranhas. ^^^

8. Leeches.

9. Komodo Dragons. I dunno how aggressive they are, but they are FULL of bacteria and I'm pretty sure their spit is more dangerous than humans, and we're like, second place for that.

10. Moose. Fuckkk NO. These guys are aggressive little shits and apparently you have to hug a tree if you see one so it doesn't try to GORE YOU. They also cause a lotta car crashes.

An additional creepy fact about polar bears: the incredibly cold conditions they live in mean that heat retention is a necessity, so they give off VERY little heat- a civilian-grade thermal sensor won't even pick them up (supposedly; I've never been in a position to find out, but it means being hunted by one is like being stalked by the Predator).

And orcas- man, if you think pack hunting is the scariest thing about them, you don't know SQUAT. Great white sharks- you know, nature's version of Pac-man? If they find out an orca pod is nearby, they will flee THOUSANDS OF MILES to escape. "I may be a living blender whose species wiped out the megalodon, but these things scare even ME". And the name is just an artifact of how descriptors work in old Norse; they're not "killer whales", they're "whale killers".

But my vote goes to chimpanzees. The blurring of species lines with genetic advancements over the past century means that we can class roughly three categories of chimps: the Bonobos (or "cool ranch chimpanzees" as I like to call them, to see the reactions on people's faces), which everyone thinks are the free-loving peaceful hippies of the family- but they're not. Oh, they're MORE calm than the other two, but their societies have very strict rules, and attempts to mimic them, thinking it would make things better, have lead people in some VERY scary directions. And Kanzi. Yeah, HE'S cool, but if you dial back the curiosity just a bit, you get incredible intelligence without the one thing holding him in check from potentially ripping everyone around him in half.

Original recipe chimps are the most directly scary: incredibly strong, unpredictable and dangerous, and SMALLER THAN HUMANS. The reason that's a threat? If you run into a gorilla, you're not big enough to be seen as a threat; if you run, he'll let you go. A chimp doesn't have that luxury. If one attacks you, short of setting yourself on fire to spook it off, you're pretty much dead- or maimed to the point where you can't threaten it any more.

And the third chimp- nukes. What more need I say?

-Bot flies
-Candiru fish
-Bull sharks
-Tardigrades
-Cotton Mouths (snake)
-Roaches/palmetto bugs (not actually afraid of them, just hate the bastards)
-Salt water crocodiles (big azz chompie bois)
-tapeworms (you want me to do WHAT with the noodles sticking out of my butt? Wrap them around a stick and pull and WHAT? And they can be HOW long?)
-Xenomorphs (They're out there, and they want to f*** your face, okay?)

Chimpanzees, If you ever see or hear them fighting in person, it is terrifying and even more terrifying knowing they are way more stronger then humans, and they are capable of breaking bones and ripping you apart in seconds.

Why are you scared of Killer Whales (Orcas)? Though they hunt in packs, you know there has never been a human who has been killed by these animals in the wild. Quite a few people have actually been able to swim with them with no problems. Killer Whales are part of the dolphin family, so technically they really aren't something you need to fear unless you are a shark or a seal.

There's probably way more than I'm going to list but the top three that come to mind are bees, dogs, and bears. For dogs, it's not all the time. Most of them are cute. But, I'll be out running and a dog will start growling at me from its yard and that scares the crap out of me.

There's a bunch of animals that if I was next to it and I knew it was going to attack me that in that situation I'd be scared of it, but otherwise I just think are beautiful and majestic and amazing. Sharks, polar bears, are two animals that fall into that category for me.

1. They can actually bite nile crocodiles in half, so they can do way worse than goring you.
2. They can actually eat much larger animals, like smaller ungulates.
4. The species with huge pincers are usually harmless, won;t touch the fat-tail ones with a ten foot pole though...
6. Well they do eat great white sharks on occasion...
9. They are also recently discovered to be venomous :)

Mine would be parasites, parasite carrying species, and animals that have lethal, near lethal, or tissue destroying venom.

Cats.

They're the most dangerous animal that I'm likely to encounter and have encountered.

There are animals much more dangerous than cats, but I don't think I'll run into a hippo in the U. S. Midwest.
