Dumper’s bestfriend viewed my instagram story on NYE And he doesn’t follow me, why?

A Guy that dumped me couple months ago best friend viewed my story and this same friend also added my best friend on instagram couple days ago. My instagram page was public and both of the don’t follow me.

Do men have their friends check up on their exes' stories? I feel like why not just make a fake IG and stalk through that? Why is his best friend watching my stories?
