Guy friend suddenly ghosted me? What do I do?

So this guy friend and I used to be close at work. We went to lunch together several times and talked on the phone while we were at work. He is also close to my best friend (she doesn’t work with us) and he cut her off too. I haven’t spoken to him in two weeks but he talked to her after a week of no contact. He told her he stopped talking to both of us because he no longer wants anything to do with us because he thinks we are talking bad about him behind his back. He never informed any of this to me or how he felt.

It's sad that ghosting seems to be the normal now, it's like people have evolved to ghosting people instead of confronting or communicating about the problem, I have noticed that people ghost more nowadays
