Sorry this is happening to you. Lots of people who end relationships with somebody do this. He's probably just curious to see how you're taking it, if you're posting sad stuff or quotes about being heart broken, or if you're posting anything about him, or posting anything with you and a new guy.

Him viewing your updates doesn't mean he's sorry for dumping you or that he even cares about you, he's just curious to see what you're up to. One of my own exes did the same thing, never reaching out, only just wanting to see if I was doing anything interesting and to see who the girl was that I was with in my stories, who was just a female friend.
