There is this guy who seemed interested to hang out (he said “when are you available to hang out?”) last week and I ignored it cuz I wasn’t sure when I was available and he still told me “good morning” every day and yesterday I asked him if he wanted to go to the mall on Saturday and he said “he needs to check his availability and he will let me know”, do you guys think he will let me know and I should wait or should I ask him later on this week? but my best friend thinks that he is pretending to be busy and he is most likely free, is this called pay back for me not responding to his question? Please can you guys help me understand this? Or is he playing hard to get?

no no no thats not payback thats him trying to seem cool and not like a loser who has nothing on his agenda... or he could possibly be that busy i suppose but i doubt it people that busy dont have to check their schedule cuz they know their schedule... also if by some way he is using this as payback isn't busy you should lose his number quick

Second, unless you get information that tells you otherwise, take him at face value and assume he really does want to check his availability.

But, finally, the lesson here is not to ignore or play hard to get. Just be upfront.
