Why some pretty girls marry average guys when they can marry a rich one instead?

If you asked 1,000 couples you'd probably get close to 1,000 different answers/reasons.

Two, however, are probably going to stand out.

First, if you marry when you're in your early 20s, one person might not be rich but might have the potential to be.

Second, there's way more valuable things in a relationship than wealth. Sure, money helps. And being broke is misery and can sink a relationship. BUT... having oodles of money and a jerk of a spouse or an abusive spouse or one who ignores you or one who doesn't like you or spend time with you -- that's worse.

Finally, the very nature of the word average means that's it's the average. Right? Wealth exists on a curve. Only a small percentage are rich (depending on how you define that). Not all pretty girls could marry a rich guy -- there aren't enough.

Could just be about the lifestyle she's comfortable living. I'm going to start this story by saying that I love my mother and I hold her in extremely high esteem. I have a great deal of respect for her.

My mother and her sisters are blessed with extremely good looks. They also come from a multi-generational line of extremely poor people. A "trailer park dynasty" as it were. My father, on the other hand, comes from the upper middle class. His entire life, he has enjoyed a high-income-earning potential, and he's always lived in very nice neighborhoods.

My parents are divorced. The reason that happened is quite simple: my mom used her good looks to attract high-earning men, but she was never comfortable being in the upper middle class. Quite simply; my mom is most comfortable around blue collar people doing blue collar things.

There is much more to a good relationship than money. As long as I have enough to pay my bills I’m good but know I am with somebody who loves me for who i am and not for my money means a lot.

Some good-looking guys are just too dumb because they are getting too much attention from girls and missed that one girl he loves.

Average guys are desperate, they give the pretty girl lots of attention.

Rich one is the hardest to find that one true person.

People are looking for different things. Some may date for wealth, or for common interests, or... shockingly even for love.

Money is nice but beyond a certain point it doesn't make all that much difference.

Girls like smart guys, not rich ones. When an attractive girl turns 25, she's bored of stupid guys with money, and she prefers those with brain. Keep into account that pretty girls had many many many more guys than plain girls, and their experience means a lot to them.

Actually it's only natural to get attracted to someone rich but if they're only after the money, that's what makes them gold diggers. Also, presentation matters wherever you go and it's not even just for dating. A guy would naturally prefer the most fertile and healthy women than someone who don't have discipline on themselves. AKA those overweight women, malnourished women or women who abuse drugs and so on. Also what you said about men has nothing to do with your question.

Maybe it's because you just never seen a man getting called shallow for not going after those objectively ugly girls. The average don't only come from your experiences. I can also just say a women don't get called a gold digger for wanting rich guys but a guy gets called shallow for wanting pretty women.
