I went up to the guy I like, said hello to grab his attention. He stared at me with a blank expression, and I told him what I needed to tell him and he just stares at me for a few seconds and answers back.

What does this mean? It took him awhile to answer back, he just stared at me with a blank expression not knowing what to say?

Okay, so this has happened to me... but I have never just stared at someone blankly without saying anything. But honestly, its hard to honestly say for sure because you need to be more specific, about the situation and exactly what you said to him.

If you know he is socially awkward, then why put him in a socially awkward situation? Then act confused that he gave you a socially awkward response.

Without more information I really cannot say why he did what he did. He could have been shocked, he could have been confused, he could have just not wanted to hurt your feelings, or he just doesn't know what to tell you.

• Maybe you make him really nervous?

They can all be good answers :-) but what if he was in deep deep thoughts. I know I do it sometimes and then my fase is also expressionless.. Just saying :-)
