Just because someone is in a relationship does not mean they’re a faithful partner, people cheat all the time even the ones you think would never do it. I don't know what your intention is for talking to this dude, but if it’s romantic interest then be sure to pay attention to how he’s going behind his girlfriends back to chat with you.
