My guy friend got upset when I would only agree to lunch but not a movie, as he wants to see a horror movie and I don’t feel up to watching people being ripped apart on the big screen. He acted petulant; saying ‘I might have to blow off the lunch, too;’ as though I was blowing him off. Was he asking me out on a date and I didn’t notice? I am very naive about such stuff. Autistic. Definitely not interested in him romantically, either.

It sounds like regardless if he thought it was a date or not he did not handle getting his way in a mature way.

What kind of person is used to always getting their way and can I have that life?

He was definitely asking you for a date. If you only like him as a friend, maybe you should let him know.

I have let him know, multiple times. I think I’ll just have to see him less often. Like my other friend does; as he prefers her to me.
