Why would an ex reach out just to ghost you?

Back story: My ex and I broke up over a month ago. And we haven’t been in contact. About a week ago he texted me. And I returned his text and he never replied. Also, I texted him 2 days ago asking for my stuff I letter over his house and he doesn’t want to give me my things back.

Hmm that's weird, not sure why your ex would hit you up after all this time just to ignore you again. Here are some possibilities:

- He might have been lonely/bored and wanted to see if you were still giving him attention like before. But once he got that initial response, he dipped out.

- Could be he's going through some stuff and wasn't really looking to talk, just sent an impulse text when he was feeling down.

- Maybe he regrets how things ended and misses you a bit. But isn't actually ready to fully reconnect or deal with returning your stuff.

- Could just be messing with your head a little bit for whatever reason.

I'd say try not to stress on it too much, dudes are complicated sometimes. If he reaches back out, be cool and keep it casual. But don't hold your breath waiting either. And definitely try to get your stuff back somehow, no need to leave things at his place, ya know? Keep it pushin and maybe he'll sort his stuff out.
