I don't know if I remember the Cher version or not. I definitely remember the Everette version though.

Cher did write some songs, but mostly she did covers.

That was Cher? Really? Oh, apparently she did a cover of it; the version I heard was by someone else (Cher not being quite old enough to be played on Oldies 104.3; at least not work barely older than me).
