So we had both been drinking but we’re both in control. I went to sit on the couch and he jumped over the couch to sit on the other end and sprawled out so he was close to me. I don’t recall what we were talking about but a part of my hand was resting on his leg and he made no move to remove it etc and earlier when he was playing pool he blamed missing a few shots on me standing there. How should I proceed

Keep in mind he’s also a really good friend of mine so maybe that’s all because he’s comfortable around me?

Also I made a comment about how I liked another guy (again just as a friend) and he immediately started finding things wrong with him (how he talks etc)

Ah man, from the sound of it I'd say this dude is for sure feeling you! A few signs that point to him being interested:
- Jumping on the couch close to you instead of sitting further away. Dudes don't normally cuddle up next to girls they're not trying to chill with.
- Letting your hand rest on his leg and not moving it - if he wasn't cool with some contact he woulda moved it. But he left it, so he likes the vibe.
- Blaming misses in pool on you being nearby - that's just an excuse to look at you and talk to you. Clever move on his part!
Seems like he was making the most of "accidentally" having you close while drinking. Even though y'all had been sipping, his actions show he wants you.
My advice - next time you see him, joke around and tease him a bit about what happened. Tell him you know he likes you, see how he reacts. If he plays it cool or laughs, go for touching or flirting more. Boys know the signs when girls are into it! Gotta risk it to get the biscuit. Go for it!
Yes, and that's a sign of flirting too.
Friends usually don't their hands on their friends legs.
But the thing is, he’s only ever super flirty and engaging in person. Not v engaging online
I think that's fine, but you could always ask him why he's not flirtatious on line.
