What Does This Text Mean?

I am friends with a guy on Facebook who seems to really like talking with me. When we message back and forth, it's lasts for around 2 hours. We ended a conversation where he said, "It's great talking with you again! Happy to keep in touch from time to time."

What could he mean by "time to time?"

Nothing ever seems uncomfortable about our conversations. We know to end them rightly, without any awkwardness.

he doesn't want to spend all day texting and doesn't want you to think he just disappeared if he stopped responding. so he casually said bye in a nice way until the next time you two text each other (which is up to you or him). he's just being friendly! i don't think this is a bad thing. maybe after he says that say you agree and you were wondering if you two can catch up in person over coffee or something?

He's single. We've been friends for a little while. He actually said he wanted to get to know me in a more than friends way, but I don't think the time is right for now. We still talk as friends.

He actually said he was interested in courting me. But the time isn't good right now. My dad is very very sick, and probably only has a few days left. So we are just friends right now. Maybe down the road, we might be more.
Just curious as to what that text might mean.
