The way I do it is to click on the gifs in a window of their own, and copy the URL, and just paste it..

Yeah, I copy the URL, by pressing the copy button right next to the share button if you have it. That usually works for me.. Also, if you happen to stumble upon those "giphy" gifs, you would have to double up click that own window to get it's own window.
