If a guy saved a screenshot of a reply, what does it mean?

A few years ago, I talked to a guy for a closure and he told me he still has a screenshot of what my best friend said about him. So basically the guy kinda hurt me emotionally and my best friend gave him a reply of how horrible he is and lead me on as a sweet girl, etc. My best friend told me he probably saved it and show it to his friend to make fun of us and how stupid we are.

Maybe the question is more of, why does a guy save a screenshot?

I mean... not to state the obvious, but I'm not too sure how else to answer this. He's holding onto the screenshot to use the information in it later. Clearly he thinks that something about that information will be of use. Maybe to guilt trip someone? This doesn't sound like a very socially intelligent person.
