Hey girl, don't overthink it too much. From what you described, it doesn't necessarily mean your friend was judging you. A couple possibilities:

- He may have just been noticing your new outfit and checking it out. Guys are typically more visual, so a new dress could catch his eye even if you didn't think you looked that good.

- It's possible he was checking you out in a more flirty/attracted way rather than a judging way. We don't always have the best perception of how we look to others.

- Could have just been a friendly once-over to see your new dress as your friend. Friends notice when other friends change up their style too.

I wouldn't assume it was a negative thing unless his facial expression or body language read as upset or disapproving. Friends check each other out innocently all the time.

If you're really worried, you could always ask him casually what he thought of the new outfit to gauge his reaction. But try not to overthink it too much either! Hopefully he was just giving your look a complimentary once-over.
