It’s my workday, I just look casual, like I look like at work,
I had a video call with my online friend who has told me “I love seeing your face.”
Is it just a politeness or a compliment?

That's not just an expression nor it's a compliment of you being pretty or something. He means that seeing your face makes him happy, it makes his day better whenever he gets to see it. You've a strong affect on him. I don't know your situation with this online guy, maybe he just said it this once, but it seems like he has some feelings, maybe even just platonic. I don't wanna make any assumptions here.
You do have a very nice-looking face. 😅 Obviously he likes seeing it.
Aww thanks

Yes it's, but depending on relationships and context.
I tried saying that to Myself, I couldn't keep a straight face.
It's a Compliment, likely to butter you up.
That's hitting on you.
He only told me that at the end of the call, when I was about to go. So that’s flirting?
Hitting on you must be an English thing. Say in human language please, don’t understand what it exactly means
Thanks for clarification ^_^ Why say I love seeing your face? Why not, you are cute or pretty or so on?
I am happy to see you and so on? Is not saying I love seeing your face too strong of an emotion?
You’re too critical of him, he’s very nice.
I'm not questioning how nice he is. I'm saying that he is saying some really odd things. People who have the kind of money he claims to have usually don't brag about how much wealth they have. I've known some pretty wealthy people and none of them talked about it.. In fact until I went to this one guy's house I had no idea how loaded he was.
Do people you just meet typically talk about their money? Maybe it's a cultural thing or something.
He hasn’t talked about money. We were talking about being grateful about life and he just said he is very grateful for everything he has got.
He just likes to appear strong I think.
He’s very nice and smart actually.
I said he is very happy with his financial situation. I never said money.
my friends always make me smile when I see them again...
So, it’s a friendly expression?
well... I never actually tell them that because I don't see any need to
and my guess is this... if you can't tell what they mean or not with it... then they're probably hitting on you and they're not being just friendly, lol
Take the compliment. I get "oh god, you again?"
Haha, I am just self-conscious but I’ll take the compliment
hmm i think compliment
I love seen my friends faces.
Compliment
