I used to have a good relationationship with my boss, not overly flirty but we did have a laugh and message each other non work related things sometimes and have banter etc. Then suddenly he just stopped replying. We still get on so well at work but the messages stopped. Why? Do you think his wife saw and jusy didn't like it? It felt very random to stop like he did.

Respect his marriage. You’re dipping your toe and you’re going to swallowed by the tide. Cheating doesn’t just happen. It starts exactly this way. That transition into cheating will happen suddenly and fast, and you’ll be too far ensnared to be able to stop it. The fact that you suspect his wife doesn’t like it says you already know what you’re doing is wrong. I don’t think you understand the consequences of infidelity in marriage. You’ll destroy their entire family and mess with the development of his children. They won’t have a stable household to lean on and a model relationship to follow. Their kids will likely repeat the cycle on to someone else in their life. He’s dancing with the devil and is about to pay his dues. You’re playing with fire. Cut your losses or pay the consequences. Don't claim ignorance when you pay the consequences though. Take ownership.

His wife could’ve seen, he could’ve thought better of texting you outside of work, why really knows. But I don’t think this is a situation you need closure about, the guy is married.

Oops meant to put who really knows lol yeah, I get that but none of us could factually tell you what his motive was. Only way to know for sure would be asking him directly, but that only circles back to this situation not being something to seek closure about. This is probably for the better too because I think you would’ve developed romantic feelings for him if you haven’t already. Eventually you wouldn’t want to be limited to only texting and have to face the repeated pain of wanting an unattainable man. It’s a very hurtful situation in general but if it were with your boss I think it’d be 10x worse. If I were you I’d just appreciate the work dynamic, it’s great to have a chill relationship with you boss, but then when you clock out leave that connection at the door as well.
