It depends.

If you barely know the guy and you distance yourself then no... He forgets you quicker than you can say "bye".

If you know the guy and there are feelings between you it will take some time for him to forget you (depending what has passed between you). He'll think about you and perhaps run through a few words or moments you've shared to form his "capsule impression" of you before putting you away in the back of his mind, possibly never to be thought of again.

If you're very close and have been through a lot together, putting in the time and effort to be close, then yes he will obviously miss you, though what he will do about that is up to the particular guy and situation.

Some guys know how to respond to absence and distance, others don't know what to do with it. (Same goes for girls, by the way.)
