Depends on the lady in question and the way its done. For simplicity lets assume a stranger which would reduce it to the way it's done (how attractive she was would affect my reaction, but only in the level of encouragement toward the comment and the return of the compliment).

So, if the girl gleefully exclaims "wow, your sexy!"; I'd probably be quite flustered, even more so if I really thought she was very sexy herself. After the initial surprise I'd likely respond with either a polite perfunctuary 'Thank you' if the girl was not at all attractive to me, or if the girl was attractive a shy smile and "well your very attractive yourself!". I'd likely feel a bit lame with the response, but highly flattered at the compliment.

If the situation was one where everyone was smartly dressed, and the girl politely commented "that suit makes you look very sexy" I would likely interperate that as a compliment to my dress sense, with a hint of indication of attraction. I would probably respond in kind.

Any time anyone calls anyone else sexy there's a risk factor. It can make someone feel pretty awkward fairly quickly and should be reserved for a 'second prong' compliment. Start always with something like "pardon me for saying, but you look very handsome". Judge the reaction, and if positive (am obvious smile), follow it up with "and a sexy smile, now I think about it". That would likely induce a blush in any guy (and if guys a creep an immediate offer to "take you home", though also maybe if you know they guy well, might be done in genuine passion encouraged by your commentary).

Of course I would love it; but I will get a bit shy, insecure... and afraid.

A) It's not something which has happened a lot to me.

B) My last relationship was an abusive one... and she was the one, out of *all* 7, who was the most positive about me and my body.

So yeah, I will not be able to help it that I will get afraid..

All females I have contact with currently... and there aren't that many... are because due to their age, 10+ years older, I do not have to worry about any Romances forming and we are 'friends' because we have a shared interest in something... usually something Political (I don't even know what some of the ladies look like and I have 'known' them for years).
