I always feel like when I’m messaging a guy, I always wana be the one who stops replying. Maybe cuz I’m insecure? Maybe my ego? Am I the only one feeling like this? Maybe it’s a power trip?

Who’s usually starting the conversations? I only ask because if you are usually first to initiate then it can definitely be an ego thing, like if you’re already annoyed for having to strike up conversation so you want to end it first. However if it’s mutual effort, or if he is usually initiating chats then I would say it’s more egotistical on your end. In which case I’d say to do some soul searching, delve into your past, try to pinpoint when/how this started and heal it. A lot of our behaviors are rooted in previous trauma and we don’t even realize we never really healed it.

if that is so important to you, it might be time to rethink what you are doing and why you are doing it.
