Why do American men marry ugly women?

I think American men are very handsome and masculine. But I am very surprised when I look at the women they marry. I'm thinking "How did such a handsome man marry this average type of woman?"what do you think about this?

I recently got back from Romania. And I was amazed. Excluding the elderly, I didn't see one single woman who was unattractive. Not only that, but they are kind, smart, humble, and sweet. They also respect men. I literally felt like I'd died and gone to heaven.

Honestly, I felt a little depressed when I got back, after realizing that I'm constantly surrounded by such low-quality options who think highly of themselves. There are a lot of fat, ugly, self-entitled, feminist, man hating women in America. Even the average looking ones feel a sense of entitlement, when in reality they are nothing to write home about.

To answer the question, men either want some sex or they want the dream of wife and family and they will settle for this garbage in order to realize that dream.

@Melanie31 I don't know that they do? I see attractive women with men that are NOT equally attractive. I have always enjoyed the company of pretty women, and I for one, do not consider myself equally attractive as my prior mate/women companions. Of course that is only one guys opinion.

Because normally the highly attractive have an appearance that attracts far more attention which only decreases the chances of that woman remaining valid to the men that want to marry, many experiment or go with the flow of things and either sleep around or let their appearance get over their head that can create personality changes in one to several ways that can make these women less appealing for marriage, it's actually extremely difficult in the western world to find a highly attractive individual that has the strength in self control to stick to their standards or even morals and even less to match the standards of a man that seeks for specific qualifications for marriage, this is my guess as I've seen most women that have had the time to think of these things usually fall down the line of average to less attractive women and marriage material is marriage material, appearance only plays a part that's very limited.

Guys here marry a girl they can actually get and a girl who is good to them. Good heart is more important than looks. Attractive girls here in America don’t give normal guys the time of day as they have so many guys after them but what they don’t know is when it comes down to it most of them aren’t serious.

Probably the most asinine question/opinion of ‘25 so far. If they’re happy with their choice of partner-then that’s all that matters. Who’s to say that others might classify any partner of yours as ‘ugly.’ Same principle only reversed.
