It means he thinks you're cute. My girlfriend is a babe but so many moments she does something that I think is absolutley adorable, and sometimes I just want to pat her on the head and tell her. It's not meant to be insulting or anything. It's means he thinks you're cute. and honestly it could easily mean he's flirting with you.
