Guys: opinions on girls who've had plastic surgery?

I'm sceduled to get a nose job exactly one year from today. I've hated my nose all my life (or at least since I started noticing my appearance).

That is all I'm ever getting done (my one and only insecurity). If a woman got a procedure done to raise her self-confidence, would you mind?

Would you still date a woman who's had some work done?

I'm very much into all natural girls. Plastic surgery is a big turn-off for you. Before I looked at the photos you've posted, I tried hard to tell myself "let's not have any prejudices, let's just look at the photos first and than make up my opinion". However, the second I looked at the two photos, all my bad opinions about plastic surgery were reinforced again. You call this natural looking? I'm sorry but I can't possibly see anything that would look remotely natural about this nose. It looks exactly like the woman did a nose job and I can say with all my heart and all my honesty that in my opinion, the woman on the right looks plain ugly. Her nose looks so fake it destroys the whole face. Nobody has such a narrow nose. In fact, it looks almost unhealthily narrow. The nose on the left looks much more beautiful in my eyes.
The thing about plastic surgery is this: I'm not generally against plastic surgery as such BUT every single time I've look at girls so far who've done plastic surgery (nose jobs, boob jobs, whatever) I end up finding them much prettier and cuter before their surgery. Also, I find it a very stupid decision to "cure" your lack of self-esteem with a plastic surgery. Because if you do this, you're not actually curing it. You will feel just as insecure about yourself as before this surgery. I can promise you, you will find something else that bothers you, sooner or later. You'd be much better advised to work on your feelings and on your self-esteem instead of having a doctor cut your nose open. But hey, everyone has to find out these things their own way and for some people it take more money and time to find out what's really important.
Personally, I wouldn't date women who've done plastic surgery. For me, the definition of love is accepting somebody the way he/she is. I am almost blind on both eyes. My eyes look funny to strangers. Yet, my girlfriend loves me very much. Why? Because she accepts me the way I am - and that's something very, very beautiful (I also accept her the way she is of course).
Really the one and only situation where I can see a positive aspect of plastic surgery is when people can get it who've been into terrible accidents.

My mom has the same concern for me: That if I get the nose job, I'll want more procedures.
But, my nose is the only feature I dislike.
I really badly want to get it done because I know I'd be a lot prettier after.

What if you're wrong? For all I know, plastic surgeries are pretty much the same as tatoos in the sense that people get addicted to them. You know... I've got this friend. One day he said he wants to get this tatoo really badly. He said that he's been thinking about it for years. Since I am a fan of all-natural and hence not exactly a big fan of tattoos, I told him he shouldn't do it because he might regret it. He kept saying that he really only wants this one tattoo because the motive means something special to him. He said quite the same thing as you do now. I told him not to do it anyway but he still did it. Well, guess what. Four years have passed and he's got both of his arms and a large area of his back covered in tattoos, many of which are not exactly smart motives.
How can you possibly know it will stay like this? And again, don't cure your insecurities by changing your body. That's as though a doctor would "cure" a patient with cancer by giving him some pain killers. Your

insecurities won't just fly away. Plus: here's one more thing I haven't mentioned so far: you are 17. You are a teenager. Teenagers are pathologically insecure. There's probably no teenager in the world that isn't insecure about himself/herself in some way. If you really, really, really must do this, wait at least 10 more years. Give yourself some time to become older and more mature. And if it still bothers you then, I guess you can do it then. I don't mean to be condescending but you've now heard two opinions of people who are older than you and have more life experience, me and your mom. For your own good, I hope you will think about this one more time. But if you must do it, do it. In German we say "sometimes I child has to touch the hot stove to believe it's dangerous". And unless your nose looks like one of those extremely crooked witch-noses that old hags in scary movies have, I can't really imagine it being so ugly that it would afford surgery.

Ask a guy in real-life with your actual before and after pictures. The issue seem to lie in your own definition of pretty. You may think it looks good, that doesn’t mean it is true in everyone else’s (more importantly in your case mens’) eyes. But of course if you are fine with looking pretty and considering it pretty by yourself and just your girlfriends, then that is fine. But something tells me that is not what you are genuinely aiming for?

You're only seventeen, why get plastic surgery now? The only time I really understand someone getting plastic surgery (ever really) is if they're disfigured in some way. Like the little boy who was born without a face.

I don't much like my legs but I wouldn't spend a shitload of money to change them. My friend can't stand the colour of her eyes but she doesn't like the sound of spending money on contacts to change the colour.

I understand having insecurities, but in my opinion, anything fake tends to look fake. Which in turn will always look worse.

i also have a bulbous nose. but in my case it's largely considered a distinctive ethnic feature. if i had work done on it, everyone would notice. it's the only reason i didn't mess around with it.

i think though, even at 18, it's too young for a nose job. you're still growing into your looks. if you go ahead with it though, make sure you have a really good surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty.

A lot of men say they don't like the fake look yet idolise women like Beyonce, Megan Fox and Scarlett Johansson who have had work done.

The thing would strike me about going out with someone who has plastic surgery is more about how they see the physical characteristic they 'hated' they had in general.

So you don't like your nose? Do you think everyone with your kind of nose has an ugly nose as well? If you don't, why would you dislike it on yourself? All these question that would pop up in my head would make it seem like those who have plastic surgery are hypocrites (not saying you are one).

I generally dislike really wide and bulbous noses on girls, yes.
Small, cute noses have always been more attractive on women.. just think about all the beautiful girls you've seen.

My real point? Noses have never made a woman to me any more or less beautiful. I don't even find noses an attractive feature of women which makes me wonder whether my opinion really matters or not. But what does matter is that it's very unlikely that I'm the only one who feels that way.

I know some people that should have them done, but others that don't need them that do like in your example above. I saw your profile pic too. There's nothing wrong with your nose. I knew a girl that had one done in high school and she wasn't even 17 yet. She go made fun of several times for it. She was beautiful either way and I honesty couldn't tell she had it done till someone told me.

In either case, it’s not just a nose——it’s really how the entire face and all the ratios as well as skin texture come together to appear natural. Sighs... (most of) human aesthetics is doomed.

My ex girlfriend had a boob job and I didn't care at all. It made her look better, improved her self-esteem, and helped her get modeling jobs, so there was no downside that I saw. I'll probably get hair transplant surgery in my life at some point because I don't want to look old.

I'm just not seeing that in your pictures. My eyes are old, but they aren't blind. But I wouldn't stand in your way if it's what you really want. Just be sure it's what you *really* want. I had WLS 3 years ago. Lost 175 pounds. Girls who wouldn't flirt with me before started trying to flirt. Really? I wasn't good enough for you then? Then I'm still not good enough for you now that I look like what you consider "normal".

If heterosexual men desire certain traits than those traits are inevitably the definition of beauty in women, they are after all the gender which is genuinely attracted to said features——this is in comparison to the false ideals and often awkward creations of women in order to appeal to... well either an alien race or women themselves. You’re not a dreamer, but you are aiming for the 99% percentile. The great majority of women do not truly comprehend aesthetics the same way men do, and are therefore easily distracted by what they falsely deem to be appealing (despite some of them being studied in regards to proportion). It’s not simply insecurity which drives them, rather a false concept & inaccurate assessment of aesthetics. In the end of the day however, more experienced and intelligent women who just so happen to be gifted with beauty will refuse plastic surgery as they are quite confident in their own appearance, perhaps the 99.9th percentile, but they do exist.
