Guys!! What do you think about plastic surgery?

Okay, so I have a question. I move to US a year ago, I’m from Colombia, I was used to be around woman that look absolutely stunning with their perfect enhanced bodies, so for me that is “beauty”, myself since I have memory, my body have been the opposite of “beauty” I was skinny, flat and not attractive at all, so my dream was to get as many surgeries and fix myself, then I meet my now husband an American man, really sweet but when I told him my plans of getting all this surgeries he tried to stop me, he thinks that’s “retarded” and he want me to stay the way I am, and I don’t like it. I feel like he is just selfish cause who don’t like beauty? And man usually follow all this IG models and everything, but anyway I want to know what other people think about surgeries? What is beauty in US? What is the “beauty stereotype”?

This is going to sound condescending, and I don't really mean it that way, but I have to speak the truth here.

Colombia embraces all of that surgical "perfection" because they aren't very sophisticated as a society - most of its wealthy citizens are "new money", and as it is anywhere, "new money" tends to have no taste. The US went through a phase of that too, in the 90s especially, but we've largely moved past it - though there's still "new money" here that does it, rappers and athletes mostly. But overall, we don't want fake, we want NATURAL, because after experiencing the fake, we realize that it's worse than the "less perfect" natural look. Colombia will almost certainly evolve over time and feel the same way.

You're in the US now, and in the US, fake things are seen as lower value by most. That's just how it is. If you got all these surgeries, you'd be able to attract the men at the top of the lower class, but never the men at the top of the middle class, much less any men in the upper class. Is that really what you want?

If you have some birth defect or some disfiguring condition or injury/scar sure... go for it. I support it.

If you just want bigger boobs or you want to inject junk into your lips and into your butt and do "procedures" to prevent aging (you'll just look weird... not young). I am against it and wouldn't be in romantic relationships with those that do this stuff.

I think on the body it is extremely risky and not worth it. People are just lazy. I don’t get the whole kardashian ass thing because I prefer a VS model figure which I have and I am very happy with that. I do understand that some people’s skeletal structure doesn’t allow that but just work out and stay fit gosh why the laziness?

It’s your choice and he should respect it if you do decide to get work done, but don’t get it done for others if you’re going to do anything make sure your doing it for yourself and not just to fit the beauty standard, it is important to learn your beauty before you do work on yourself

For me I find natural is 9/10 times better. I'm not against plastic surgery so long as its something minimal. Like fixing the bridge of someones nose if they like broke it growing up so they decided to like realign it. Or really felt the need to reduce the number of moles/birthmarks.

I find boob jobs and fat injections to be really just temporary improvements that aren't worth the money or the investment. I'd rather have the girlfriend that her parents made than the girlfriend that wanted to be someone else (cause I believe in the idea one has to be okay with themselves before they can truly love another). If I'm falling hard for you its cause I love you as you are not just cause how you appear. You are already beautiful to me, if I'm falling for an other half.

The women in those photos look grotesque.

The female form is naturally beautiful. I love the true female form, not cartoonish caricatures. That kind of surgery looks and feels fake. It turns women into a consumer products. Plus, such surgery is a sign of shallowness, insecurity and self loathing. And there is nothing attractive about that.

Reconstructive surgery is one thing, but I would reject any woman who enhanced her body with plastic surgery. I even hate lip injections and too much makeup. I would search for an authentic woman.

If your husband loves you, he loves you for who you are. Why jeopardize that? You need to learn to love YOURSELF for who you are.

See this is a prime example of why I wish plastic surgery just never existed. "skinny and flat chested" Cool... ummm why do you think so many Western Men are chasing Asians these days? EXACTLY! most men want SMALL not big. I for one dont like big breasts at all. And God... this is going to sound so bad I almost dont want to say it but... I mean those ass implants make you look like your have a turkey back there sticking out. It's so unnatural and weird tbh. STOP GETTING PLASTIC! I left a girl like this who started getting tattoos. I told her to stop and she just wouldn't so I said bye. I want a natural body and beauty. I just like a girl bathed daily, shaved, and she can wear her make up and contour if she wants but anything more than that is a no-go for me. And I won't lie... I'm always envious of dudes who have an unaltered girl. That's what I desire, natural. Seek therapy, not a surgeon.

I agree with your husband. Getting surgeries is retarded. Plus it usually makes the person look worse, not better. For example those women in the pictures with the big fake asses look like shit. It's like hanging a sign on them saying "I'm a retard".

It's also a sign of insecurity which is a huge negative.

In my opinion people are kinda hypocritical about plastic surgery. They will tell you "Ewww no" if you tell them you are going to get or got work done, but at the same time they idolize and fawn over celebrities that have had plastic surgery. Most Hollywood celebrities and Instagram models have had some type of work done. They're just good at hiding and most of the time it's subtle, because they have access to the best doctors in the world

I hate it. I thought it is an easy surgery without many consequences which was so naive of me. Many surgeries has so many bad consequences. For example i did not know in the most of the cases that you need another revision nose surgery. I know two girls who need a revision nose surgery. Bbl can be very dangerous aka you can die etc

My ex-wife was a Colombian, she got a tummy tuck and then left me 3 months later. Her sister in Colombia was full of plastic surgeries. Colombian women are very quick to get surgeries. It does make them look better, especially with the big asses and big boobs. Colombian women are to me the sexiest best looking women.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Your husband thinks you are beautiful the way you are. Personally I would rather date a woman who was a 6/10 without plastic surgery then a woman who was a 10/10 with plastic surgery. If I wanted a plastic girlfriend I would buy a sex doll. We aren't looking for perceived beauty standards that are enforced by plastic surgery or photoshopping to make women look like Barbie.

We like women natural across the board. Personally plastic surgery is okay in my eyes if it was to cover some grotesque injury or deformity to alleviate the stares amd help people blend in better. If it is done as a way to fix a perceived insecurity on a physical level, that is their decision, but not one I condone.

Some are and can be a little more extreme than others; and we ignore those that might be watching and love us the most. We don't realize as we watch someone in front of us that someone is watching from behind you. I have seen so many very attractive and beautiful women ruin their appearance permanently with plastic surgery. If it’s one or two things like your nose, or a hairline or bust, that’s one thing, but many people can’t stop and keep changing things unnecessarily until everyone can tell and it’s not flattering. Your man loves you for you. I wouldn’t risk your looks for the potential to meet a unrealistic standard.
