Is pole dancing for fitness slutty?

Just curious, in your opinion: Is pole dancing as a form of fitness or competitve sport slutty?

Guys if you want to dig in deeper and type an answer to this one: Would you be more willing to accept or reject a girl if you knew she pole danced for exercise?

Kind of? I mean, pole dancing was invented and developed by strippers for the explicit purpose of stripping. So to engage in it and then refusing to accept the stigma of sex work that comes attached to it, and essentially shaming the sex workers who invented it in the first place, is pretty damn ridiculous. Basically, I don't think being a stripper is necessarily a bad thing, so while yes pole dancing is sexual and tied to sex work, I hesitate to call it "slutty" because of all the negative stigma attached to that word.

I wouldn't necessarily think they are one, no. I fully recognize that pole dancing can just be a fitness/fun thing. But I also don't want to say that it's not "slutty", because it definitely is associated with sex work and it'd be silly to try to destigmatize pole dancing without destigmatizing sex work. Does that make sense? Basically I don't want non-stripper pole dancers being praised for doing what strippers are criticized for doing (especially because strippers invented it).

Pole dancers, good ones, are really fit and talented. You don't have to be in your underwear to do it for fitness, but then you don't have to pole dance to exercise. If you enjoy it then why not, if you're doing it for cash on some sticky stage I could see why a man would have issue.

Not at all! I think pole dancing is a wonderful way to get fit while also useful in the bedroom. I am actually thinking of learning so that I can bring my newfound skills to the bedroom and impress my fella (when I get one!)

It actually does take strength and flexibility to be a talented and performing pole dancer. It's actually painful to perform some of the moves from what I've heard. You risk bruising your skin doing the more daring stuff, and hyper-extension. And honestly if a girl told me she knows how to pole dance, I'd consider that an unexpected plus.

I don't like the term "slutty", but I see pole dancing as sexual. Even if you do it purely for exercise, you know about its sexual history and influences and what most people think about it. I assume serious pole dancers are at least okay with people thinking it's "sexier" than other types of dance.

For fitness? Nah it probably wouldn't bother me as long as she's not dancing in a club, you just gotta remember its orgin and what it was created to do though. For me I will always view it for its intended purpose when created and it will always be that to me.

However I'll always view the girl doing it based on what she's doing it for and why.
