How do people keep their nails short enough so that there is never any white part showing?

my nail bed starts lower than most people so my nails always look shorter and the white part whatever is called doesn't start showing or growing till its beyond my finger tips and at that where it ends up breaking before the white part begins to show and people wonder why i spend money on fake nails b i need themmmmm!!!
