Is it possible to receive financial assistance for diagnosed depression?

It has caused me to not be able to work for quite a few years or finish college. I had to take a 3 month medical leave from college and when I came back, I last a few months before my only option was to withdraw from school from medication withdraw. I have diagnosed OCD, Anxiety, and Depression which runs in my family. My mother and my sisters have Depression/Anxiety as well, but for me, it is debilitating and I struggle to get out of bed. I no longer have health insurance and can't afford my medications anymore but they made me feel awful when being on yet another type. Does anyone struggle with this and do you receive SS for it? I make no money and feel stuck.

Its just for temporary help so I can afford doctor visits and get help again. Why are you all attacking me like Im trying to rob the system?

Depression and anxiety are terrible mental disorders, it sucks, but this is just lazy. Get up off your ass and DO SOMETHING. This is just laziness and it's offensive to those out there who actually physically CANNOT work. All you're doing is making excuses.

I've been diagnosed with PTSD and depression. Guess what though, it's just a diagnosis. I don't let it control my life. I control it. I work full time I'm a full time student full time husband and full time father of 2 little girls. I decided to change what made me depressed and what causes my severe anxiety attacks. You have to decide to do something about it. Government money will not help you and medicine will not cure you. Only you can decide to not be depressed.
