Should I get my mole removed by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist?

I have a mole on my forehead that I hate. I've always been so insecure about myself and I'm ready to get it removed. I'm not sure if it's better to go to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon? I've called several places but they all say they need to see if first..

It's is always better to get things like moles removed in case the turn nasty. I had one removed a few years ago that appeared on my neck. It wasn't cancerous, but might have if I'd left it. Go and see a doctor first. They will direct you to the correct consultant. Plastic surgeon is not a good idea.

When I had a mole on my face removed, I went to a dermatologist. That's probably the best place to go for it.

My forehead, yeah. Above my left eyebrow. The dermatologist I went to did a great job. I didn't feel it at all and it didn't leave a scar or anything.

I can vouch for it being painless, and no visible scar after a few months. I agree with going to a dermatologist.

I would say dermatologist. I've had a couple moles removed before and always saw a derm.
