Guys, could it cause issues for my relationship with my boyfriend if I become very muscular?

Normally, I run 3 days a week, which has helped me stay in reasonable shape but not caused any significant muscle build up. But now, as well as running, I have decided to take up karate lessons (something I have always wanted to do). I can tell already that I'm going to accumulate some extra muscle in my arms and stomach that I am very unfamiliar with. My boyfriend is reasonably fit because of his job as an industrial plumber, and has always been the stronger one, and I wonder how he will feel about me suddenly getting less "soft".

I know if I asked him, he would never dream of complaining. So I have to wonder if there is honestly any ill effects that my becoming fit might have on him. Do some guys find really fit girls less attractive, or will it make him feel less masculine, ect? I know guys have different tastes on this issue so I'm interested in any possible downsides, and how I could avoid them.
