Do wet shirts do this?

I had no rashes at all while I was swimming in the ocean, but now six hours later, I'm red in my chest where it was wet on my T-shirt and have chest pains. (I took a shower in a rush, causing my shirt to be soaking wet.) ((I know it's not anything heart related since I literally just went to the doctor's about a week ago.))

It could be a jellyfish sting, if they are common in those waters. It has happened to a couple of my friends. They didn't even know they were stung until they were out of water and someone pointed it out. We didn't even know what it was until a lifeguard came out and told us. It's really common.

It was probably from wearing your shirt in the water. Next time wear a rash guard.

It could be a friction burn from wearing a rough cotton shirt. Cotton is brutal when it's wet.
