I moved to a dryer climate and my lips are always getting chapped... help?

I recently moved from a coastal state to the middle of the country and have had chapped lips ever since I moved. I have been applying petroleum jelly 2-3 times a day and even then it's freaking annoying. I've been here just 4 days FYI.

Is this going to go away within the next few weeks, or will it take years for my lips to adjust to this? Is there anything else I should be doing?

The hydration idea is definitely useful, also apply the petroleum jelly before you go to bed at night. Skin absorbs moisturizers better while sleeping and if the climate change has made you a mouth breather, it will also protect your lips.

Probably should be drinking more water than you're used to since you are probably getting dehydrated and not realizing it and the affects you everywhere
