Having 9% body fat seems quite low TBH.
As far as I'm aware, BMI takes into account your height, weight, gender and age and tells you a reasonable weight for you, but it doesn't tell you what your weight consists of, which I think is key.
I'm sure a lot of bulky guys with like 15% body fat and a lot of muscle would be classed as overweight, even if they're completely healthy and bodybuilders may be classed as obese, so you need to take into account what your weights consists of and I do think there's a type of scale out there that can do that, though I can't remember what it's called.
I wish you remembered... too bad
I think if you google something like that, then it'll come up. I've seen some Youtubers promote it and I think I may have tried one, years ago now.
9% body fat? I think not, it almost sounds more like muscle weight. If you have a lot of muscle weight then it will give you a higher BMI, so you have to take that into account. 8-19% body fat is healthy in men your age, so I'm surprised you have such a high BMI, this is all I can think of.
Nah. Don’t trust the bmi.
I work out 5 days a week, i squat my own body weight and I wear an Australian size 8.
Yet my bmi is the same as yours.
BMI is a pretty useless guide as it doesn’t incorporate muscle and bone mass, your individual build and all that.
You're overweight but healthy I guess, the best is to ask a doctor. Personally I'm underweight but my doctor didn't say anything about it so I'm surely healthy.
Underweight is as bad as overweight from what I know...

26.5 at 9% body fat lol... bro lol... we both know the answer to that
BMI is used as a screening tool... its not the only test you should use, you use several and compare results... BMI can be used to categorize everyone in medical study thats full of obese people...
BMI makes sense there, they have high fat and low muscle usually
You are overweight but more toned up than even normal weight people. Most probably , you will be a very strong guy with muscles. That's why , you are overweight.-----
By BMI definition yes, but it doesn't take into account muscle. So someone with a lot of muscle can be obese by the BMI definition. Note that it is not a perfect measurement.
Mines right at 25 but my boyfriend is 12%
BMI isn't great. BF% is a much better indication of healthy weight.
love when gag auto's "bf" to boyfriend...
boyfriend...
Right
BMI is a borderline useless scale to use for anything relating to health, well not borderline useless, but not very accurate at all.
If your bodyfat is at 9% then no you're not overweight, but most guys under-estimate their bodyfat percentage so it could be higher than you think it is.
BMI isn’t the only factor in determining that, and it’s more or less useless if most of your body is muscle.
Oh well we don't know how tall you are or how much you weigh. What matters is body fat, so no, you're probably okay.
Bmi isn't accurate, I've been working out lost a of fat, gained lots of muscle, look healthy but it says I'm obese
You should go by body fat %, not BMI. If yours is 9%, you're not overweight.
How is that possible?
I am sure you look well !
Technically yes but you probably don't look fat.
Id say your a healthy average overweight.
