Will there be an increase in deaths since states are stupidly lifting restrictions during this pandemic?

I sure am waiting to see how Texas turns out.
The issue with Texas is that is has the lowest vaccination rate of ANY STATE IN THE UNION... That seems like a foolish combination.
And IF there is a serious spike in Texas, all the nearby states will be threatened too... Borders might be closed.
Biden said it was a foolish move. But for some reason, these guys are going AGAINST CDC RECOMMENDATIONS!
We are not out of the woods until 75 percent of the population is vaccinated. In Texas, it's 3 percent.
Nationwide it's 10 percent... In my state it's 14 percent.
I just got my second shot and it takes three weeks for me to get total immunity. Seeing as there are still people roaming around who are passing around this sickness, and my shot is only 95 percent effective, I can STILL GET SICK!!!
I'm wearing my mask. Luckily I do not live in Texas. WIth the freeze idiocy and now the mask idiocy, I would have deep concerns about living in such a backward state. I just don't get it.
@exitseven The covid rates in Texas are from Texans not Mexicans crossing the border. And if it's "hundreds" of illegal aliens, that is a drop in the bucket of the 29.4 million Texans in Texas. Most people of Mexican descent in Texas were born in Texas of parents of Mexican descent who were also born in Texas.
The Census Bureau, which I worked for, has all these facts.
@exitseven
Way to make the pandemic about an irrelevant conspiracy theory Trump made up rather than the facts. Covid existing in the country has zilch to do with illegal immigration.
I remember back when governors were telling people NOT to have big family gatherings. And I remember a few sheriffs said something I fully agree with. The government can tell businesses what they can and cannot do since they are required to follow federal government guidelines however how the FUCK you gonna tell private citizens how many people they can have in their homes.
Some people were making news announcements to turn in your neighbors for big social gatherings and the lead sheriffs were telling them otherwise it was rather funny but bullshit at the same time. "We will put you in jail if you have more than 5 people in your home during Thanksgiving and Christmas" Sorry idiot you forget this America!
And a lot of these dipshit governors were wondering why they were being sued by private citizens lol.
Sorry but to me I don't give a shit who you are you have no right to tell a fucking soul how many people they can have in their home. There are certain rules that even a wanna-be dictator has to follow to keep them in fact from being a dictator.
Florida has had no restrictions for all but about a 2 week period (except in a couple of counties which last a month or so) and the restrictions were very minimal while they lasted. Maybe 50% of businesses and people cooperated with those mandates for 5-7 days before returning to normal and telling the government to fuck off. Over the course of the pandemic Florida was the best performing high density state in the nation. At the moment the epicurve is on a downward trend in our state. Maybe it’s time you actually pay attention to the data collected and apply the scientific method to said data, rather than letting CNN and others brainwash you 24/7.
In the uk the lockdown has helped bring down the number of cases, deaths and hospital admissions.
Now, with so many being vaccinated, those figures all round have dropped sharp.
As long as we continue with the jabs and continue a slow exit out of lockdown, deaths won’t rise.

Absolutely not.
Those numbers by the media are absolute false.
Cause if you do the math of supposedly ‘deaths’ during this whole plandemic year. 200,000 every day, for a whole year?
Which wow, millions died this year in this country? Huh, you’d think this would happen if people weren’t told to naturally hide by the fake news.
@djfhsjk, I suggest some of these videos: youtube.com/playlist
@BoMwarrior
Nothing says “look at the facts” like posting conspiracy videos as your source.
You would prefer that we remain in lockdown for at least another year so that many more people can lose their small family-owned businesses and more people can lose their jobs? Those losses are just as real and have profound effects on a family. The lifting of restrictions does not force anyone to leave confinement, if they would rather remain in isolation; it merely gives us the freedom to make that choice for ourselves. Why should someone else make that choice for us?
Walking around without a mask (nobody in Texas wears a mask) and congregating in closed places is a really good way to infect others. Allowing this is like allowing drunk driving - you might kill yourself which is your business, but you might also kill others, thus the need for regulation.
Yes. People lack common sense and sensibility. Science has proven time and time again during this pandemic anytime we decide to gather in masses or celebrate and etc numbers goes up. People confuse the use of mask, they work if everyone has one on. However the thinking for some people who don't wear mask is that everyone else around me has one so I don't need one. People don't realize that it doesn't work that way the mask is prevent me to you, and not you to me.
No, but cause of death statistics will change. Suicide went up dramatically in 2020 due to the shutdown. Domestic abuse crime went up dramatically with the shut down.
As things open up both those numbers go down. But obviously people can still die to random events like car accidents just like always. Drunk drivers. Fights. Random crime.
Covid cases will probably rise. But covid deaths will likely be a non existent blip
One of the experts at Johns Hopkins is predicting herd immunity by April. His reasoning is sound, and explains why we've seen the drastic drop in cases in the first weeks of 2021, and too early to be attributed to vaccine rollout.
Besides, it's been 9 months since the people on TV said covid was less of a concern than George Floyd. By extension that makes is MUCH less of a concern than anything I want, or need, to do from day to day.
Oh yeah, the article link...

I think so they should put a wall around Texas only way travel throughout the country is get tested at the airport.
I agree
Or a dome like in the Simpson Movies.
You are a psychopath.
No, because masks are stupid. 🙄 It's all about fear as this doctor even admitted:
https://youtu.be/Ko6qCib1_YM www.ucsf.edu/.../still-confused-about-masks-heres-science-behind-how-face-masks-prevent
Or, you know, not stupid.
@okeydoke And I'm sure you've heard, Okeydokey, that there has been almost NO flu season and no adult humans are getting the common cold... WHY? Because masks prevent the spread of those illnesses AND everyone has washed the SKIN off their hands... over and over and regularly.
People weren't doing this before, because of Covid 19, we've nearly wiped out the flu season AND the common cold...
ALSO, please thank Clorox. Bleach. Don't you love that clean smell. And it works...
If it didn't burn my sensitive human tissues, I'd bathe in it.
Someone WILL make a bleach perfume. And make billions. It will sell the world over.
A few botanicals thrown in and chlorine! The new fragrance to lure a sex partner: Chlorine One! They'll know you're bacteria and virus free! What could be MORE SEXY!
@Screenwriter Honest question:
Is everyone you know wearing masks?
I’d guess that a large percentage of people you meet everyday are either not, wearing them part time l, or wearing them incorrectly. Here in NYC that is the case, so I suspect wherever you are is the same.
Let me be clear, many people in the United States are not and have never been following the recommended masking guidelines.
The idea behind them is that those who have Covid (and other viral diseases) will have a lower chance of spreading infected droplets from their mouths and noses into the direct world around them.
I don’t understand your hand washing or bleach rant, honestly. So I don’t know how or what to respond.
@okeydoke Was joking about the bleach and handwashing... but yes, here in New Orleans, people are wearing masks seriously. You can't go in any place of business without one on. From convenience stores to Wal mart.
All my family wears masks because I have some sick relatives. Wore masks for Thanksgiving Dinner at my cousin's house. He's not in my pod.
Outdoors, and the weather is mild right now, it's a mixed bag as to who does or doesn't.
But people in the city abide by the rules.
@Screenwriter My mistake! Sarcasm is very hard to read in text. I’m glad to hear y’all are being safe!
Why do you think it is stupid to lift restrictions?
The less control the government has on our lives the better off we are.
The government let over 100 Covid 19 infected illegal immigrants free to travel to our north eastern states from Texas with no quarantine, so why should it restrict its own lawful citizens?
My state (North Dakota) has lifted it's mask mandate, but a lot of cities and counties still have mask mandates and most businesses still require masks, so it hasn't changed much.
It’s good the mask mandates have lifted. 😊
During errands and shopping, I’ve spoken with the cashiers in their businesses. They’re not exactly fond of wearing masks either. That they have been speaking to their bosses about it.
The economy needs to be open. Social distancing and mask wearing should be done in public places, but that doesn't mean we can't transition back to social life. Go see family and friends again. Take safety precautious, but start living again.
More than if they'd done it six months ago, but you can't change the past. Unless you're willing to lend them your time machine, it's not really fair to call them stupid; no one's saying you can't keep hunkering down await the end.
Yes, moat likely, but hopefully we'll won't see the levels we saw in April last year and over the winter, particularly December and January.
(If you're in a state lifting restrictions, please continue to wear a mask. Just because it's not mandated statewide doesn't mean they're no longer necessary. Infact, we are in the most pivotal stage of this virus regarding the outcome in the long-term.)
I totally agree with what you put in parentheses. I live in Texas and I totally DON'T agree with what Gov. Abott. has announced just today... I will NOT be dining in any restaurants and WILL still be wearing a mask... if not double masking... lol.
I know some fellow Texans are happy about being able to sit in at a Starbucks and not have to be wearing masks anymore but I'm not one of them.
Yes, Retardigans deny all science, so of course there will be more deaths.
the Dummycrats aren't much better though.
It's not obvious that there's much of a relationship between restrictions and deaths. California has had probably the toughest restrictions in the country. Florida has done very little. The death rates in both states are nearly identical.
if you look to oher countries where lockdowns were lifted too soon its hard to see how it wouldn't result in more deaths
I accidently clicked yes but meant to click no. Covid is a Fucking joke. And I'll French kiss any pretty girl who has it to show how scared I am of the boogy man corona
The mandatory masks we are forced to wear are utterly useless against any virus. It is like using Frost fencing to keep out mosquitos.
I’m in no way a germophobe but I think it’s too early to lift restrictions
Absolutely. We already need to face the anti-vaxxers and plague deniers trying to spread the disease like the vermin they are, that's bad enough! I realize people are tired and frustrated, but lifting restrictions is stupid.
what they're doing is like
you've got a cut on your hand and it's starting to cure
so you just cut it again
