Had it for the first time end of November 2019 (well, I think it was the flu). Was fine on a Sunday evening, went to bed and woke up next morning with a fever. By the end of the day the fever came and went then I started to get a pain on my right side of the ribcage. My breathing became shallow and it hurt to inhale. Next day I didn't feel too bad which was good as I was due to fly out to Spain on holiday the next day. By the time I got to Spain I started to feel awful again and spent 3 days holed up in the hotel, had absolutely no energy, I was breathless, had the sweats and the lung pain returned. Managed to get to a pharmacy for some tablets and by the third day I started to feel good enough to go outside. I made a point of having a flu jab last year, didn't want to experience that again
Of course. There is a flu epidemic every year, not that I catch it every year.
There are different kinds of flu and sometimes they hit harder than others, depending on your immune response. I had something in November 2019 that was upper respiratory. I had a bad cough for several days. Other than that, I felt fine. The kind of flu that really sucks is when you have vomiting, diarrhea and fever.
The thing about catching flu is, it builds your immune system.
Yes, It was horrible because of the high fever that I had otherwise I am okay with runny nose or coughing or having a sore throat.
I would think most everyone has gotten the flu at least once or twice in their life. I know I have had it more then a few times.

Regular flu and cold yes.
Did a Covid-19 test in December 2020, negative result, but I still don't know if I have had it or not, if I have had it, my symptoms was either very mild or none what so ever.
But on the other hand I have a blood group that might not even get affected at all.
I normally get the flu for about a week every year or 2 when season hits.
Mid Feb '20 I caught the Covid, it was a unique experience I admit, but the Flu kicks my ass worse.
I got the flu once about 16 years ago. It lasted a little over a week. The periods of chills and sweating was the worse. I had 8 blankets folded in half over me and I was still shivering uncontrollable.
several times. Probably 6 or 7 in my life. I've heard it could be because i wasn't breast fed as a baby so my immune system is much weaker. THANKS MOM! :D
Mistixs I've had the flu 2 or maybe 3 times that I can remember. It's never fun. The last couple of years I've gotten the flu vaccine in the fall before the onset of flu season.
When I lived in a 3rd-world nation, I often got sick (including the flu) mainly due to air pollution. Thankfully, I'm in a cleaner country now.
More than a few times. And if I had the choice between getting flu again or getting covid again, I'll take flu every time.
Yes. As my daughter went to kindergarten she brought some viruses from there. I had two or two times really heavy flu with high fiver and other unpleasant symptoms.
However in last 5 years I didn't have a flu.
Pic related looks like mfw I saw my pregnancy test come back positive. XD
I get it every year at the start of November, flu shot or not. It's annoying but at least I can anticipate it coming.
I think maybe once but I thankfully don't get it often
well I was givin tamiflu one time, but I often have a hard time telling the difference between a cold or flu.
this 10 day experience brought me closer to the one I was married to at the time.
Ugh my girl and I both got swine flu, it was fucking aweful. Definitely on my top ten of worst experiences.
Several times. Right now I’m Covid positive. Flu is worse.
how many days into it are you? my mom's symptoms were like a flu for the first few days, and then the next few days it seemed she was getting better, and her symptoms were like a cold. then on the 7th day, she said she was the sickest she ever felt in her life and she didn't mind if she died. after she got better, I asked if it was worse than giving birth & she said yes
so it's possible to start off relatively mild and then get really bad. but you're 44 so maybe that won't happen for you. my mom is in multiple high-risk categories
This is day 10 for me. The same is true for me. On Sunday I was convinced I was better. By Monday afternoon I felt horrible and have since. It comes in waves. It’s demoralizing because you think your getting better and then your not.
The one thing for me so far that sucks the most about Covid is it won’t go away. I think the flu is more intense and pound for pound sucks way more, but Covid is the Energizer Rabbit of pathogens.
Not really. I’m pre diabetic so that’s about the only thing, but my A1C was in the 5’s at my last physical so I doubt it’s even a factor.
It is very weird. Never had anything like it.
Worst illness I got was mono. That completely floored me for over a month. I prayed for death it was so bad. I also had dysentery when I was in the military which was quite awful.
Covid Isn’t as intense as those. For me it hasn’t included much vomiting or diarrhea either. The body aches aren’t as bad with the flu. Don’t get me wrong though, it still sucks plenty enough.
It is weird how it comes and goes. At least a few hours every day I’m convinced I’m getting better only for it to come roaring back. It also completely saps your energy. I’ve only been awake 6-8 hours every day on average. Covid is also bar none the most effective appetite suppressant. I’ve literally gone days without eating. Food is 100% unappealing, though I did not loose my sense of smell or taste.
I don’t know how many times I’ve had it. I don’t count the number of times I’ve had it. Last time I had it was back in February of last year.
I'm okay cause I always get the seasonal flu shot every year
I have had it a few times. I always get the flu shot but sometimes I get sick anyway.
Since I’ve stopped eating meat and been on a whole plant based diet and since I’ve been in the sun a lot no. But before yes.
Yeah in my school days I got the flue basically every year.
I said three times but i could have had more times than that. I just don't remember. Lol
I think about 3 times in my life. Been over 20 years since the last time.
Ick , too many times to count including the times when I was in school
Yes, but I no longer do, since I stopped getting flu shots
I don't know it's nothing that's going to bother me I've nearly frozen my body problay laughs at the flu now I can get fevers I hate them
Yes it's natural to get it once or twice a decade.
IT has been a Long time. xx
I think I had it once. Not fun.
Yup, it lasted only a day though.
I used to have it once a year until I was 14
No, I don't believe so.
Really? 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

C. Three times, and its no fun.
Got the covid flu in Feb 2020
