I don't mind how crazy the solution is, maybe just eating meat or going vegan or any other thing that actually worked for you personally.

Trending & News I have defeated it, I've dealt with it over the years and even was checked into a mental hospital it was so bad at one time. So I know what I'm talking about. The truth is a lot of the normal advice you're told works. Chances are there's a reason you're depressed. Either something is bothering you that you're fixating on, or you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing. It may sound dumb but exercise, sunlight, a healthy diet, working, and having meaningful relationships are necessary to remain happy. You may have feelings of hopelessness, deep existential thoughts bothering you but the solution is to get sunlight or something like that. Humans are incapable of truly multi-tasking, this has been scientifically proven, really we just switch between gears quickly. If you workout and it's hard you'll no longer be attuned to how depressed you feel. When you feel a certain way your brain will interpret it in this weird abstract way. At the very least you'll feel less depressed if your needs are met, which is a start. Even your enviornment plays a role, that's why seasonal affective disorder is a thing. Hope this helped.
A lot greatly depends on the reasons behind the depression.
lost job = depressed.
get job, not as depressed but now anxious about loosing job etc.
Some basic ones with a specific removable cause can be gotten over or reduced to very manageable levels.
Other ones it’s really down to a good counsellor or counsellors as often you do need to change for specific issues, then developing a coping strategy.
For me it’s keeping off any drug assistance and just handling the depression.
A lot of the time it’s just background noise as I’ve had depression and PTSD for so long.
What works for one person does not always work for others,
Short answer, yes some you can pretty much defeat, others you learn to live with and develop strategies to cope with them, living with your own Black Dog.
Look. I’m going to be raw with you. If you deal with depression or anxiety or anything like that I’ve come to realise that we have to accept it is something that’s going to be a part of us forever. It’s chronic. It’s never going to go away.
Good news is - you can do things to minimise it. To temporarily take it away. Etc. In other means, keep it under control. This is when self care comes in. You have to know what triggers you and you have to avoid it.
Then you learn to live with depression. And it doesn’t affect you that much anymore.
I have.
I used to have major depressive disorder which lead me to two suicide attempts that almost killed me. However I’ve overcome it.
Instead of having depression now though, I have worse mental illnesses.
How did I overcome depression?
I theorize that because I’m using heavy doses of antipsychotics for my other mental illness, my depression has been zombified away.
Your psychiatrist might prescribe you low doses of antipsychotics which could help. Abilify or Risperidone would do you a favor.

You can defeat depression, but it will be hard. To me what helped most is the change. You have to change something in your life be it small or big. It can be anything. If it's small do it often and different things. It's important to get out of the cycle of beating yourself down and the numbness.
When you're about to go crazy do something drastic, like changing your appearance or go for a quick run. Moving your body helps a lot. I bleached my hair once. It made me the center of attention and I didn't like that at first, but with time it made me little more confident to change other things. With time the feeling of numbness stopped, I got out of depression. There's still a lot of things I have to improve on, but life is a struggle and you have to keep on fighting. When something is beating you down, punch back harder.
There will sometimes come a day or two when you don't feel like you're the hottest shit on a sunny day, but that will pass and a new day will come when you're feeling better. Have fun you only have one life. Don't waste it feeling miserable.
Damn, I should be on tedtalk xd
I cannot say I defeated depression...
but I sure got a whole lot better and learned to be able to handle and deal with most of it...
it was an quite the journey though, and it took me about 10 years of my life (age 6 to 16) to make it to a better place and point in my life
perhaps, the first steps you could try is to open up and talk to someone about these many things you constantly have in your mind, and... if the physiological factors of depression are profound, then the best would be to consult with professionals
but the first thing you could try is to narrow down how exactly your situation is going on because depression as well as many other mental health issues, they do manifest differently for different people
There's an old saying "hope deferred makes the heart sick"
I found setting realistic and achievable goals for short, medium and long term that stretched my limits - not just easy stuff - lifted me.
I beat depression in my 20s that way and in 2020 aged 48 after surviving Covid that same attitude let me recover in weeks from needing to have a below knee amputation instead of months. I walked the day I got my leg. I can drive. I can run nearly as fast as I could before.
Its a hard thing to say, but staying depressed or beating it begins with the choice to either stay depressed or beat it. You're reaching out on here for answers so I'd say you've taken the first step.
You're not alone. If you want to DM me to chat about it, please do
Take prebiotics and probiotics, cut all grain and sugar, start taking athletic greens, exercise regularly, get sunlight and try to improve one trait you dislike about yourself at a time. Gut health and inflammation effects your mind. You could try micro dosing psilocybin mushrooms daily.
For me it was so bad that I stayed up all night and slept all day so I would not have to interact with anyone. I did not want to do anything. I got to where I did not want to be like that and started making myself get up and do something. Sometimes I couldn’t but when I could I did. It did get better as I started doing things. You will at some point have to deal with what is depressing you. It does get better.
Wouldn’t say I’ve beaten it but I’m better than I was two years ago. Therapy and cbd helps me not l have dark thoughts.
Im happy for you :)
Honestly, the medication called Latuda has made a major difference for me

it lifts my mood and makes me feel great, It's prescribed to take at bedtime
I've had Depression for many years and I know it's not good at all
I took medication for a while until I found myself driving up a one way street the wrong way so I stopped taking the pills. I had a friend that was a wellness coach and she told me that depression can be caused by the lack of control of your life. I tried to figure out what it was I was depressed about. It was really about my career. I tried to take steps to fix it or at least work towards a solution. It was working for a while until Covid derailed everything.
You don't really defeat it, you just learn to cope with it. It takes a lot of getting to the root cause and properly healing.
That is an easy one but I have shared before and found that the vast majority are not really interested in a real solution and prefer to stay in their "comfort zone".
Unfortunately, I can't help those people.
You don’t defeat depression, you overcome it or conquer it. It’s up to you if you want to let depression keep you down and conquer you. It requires effort and a lifestyle change, small or big.
Therapy, bupropion and treating co-occurring ADHD. Plus exercise (running) and improved my sleep with CBT-I. Physical well being makes a huuuge difference.
Music, comedy and someone to talk to. Even a loving dog will help somewhat.
You have to consult with a professional. I recommend doing a sleep study first. It could be the answer to more than you know.
Depends if the reason for your depression is internal or external
I read books and had sex with different beautiful women
