I do not know what you do for workouts and what your diet looks like. but if you burn more calories than you consume you should start to lose weight. If you are becoming more lean you may lose inches and not lose any weight. You are losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle weighs 8 times what fat weighs,

No, it might be unhealthy for you. I'd save up the money you were going to spend on pills and get a professional dietitian instead.
