Fucking 40+ is the max? that's like what the pussies do in the military to barely pass... you know, the ones we all make fun of and pee in their food. That's like what I do with one-arm pushups. Jesus... and I think that was for the females... which makes sense because their chest muscles are replaced by HEAVY BAGS OF FAT, which is called titts.
My advice to anyone that can't pass the 95+ pushup standard... just do as many as you can when you wake up. Don't bother counting them or doing multiple sets... just do that shit every day. It's the same as running. I used to take this dog I had out for runs... retriever. The first week that fucker was pulling me and ahead of me... it only took a week and I was dragging him by the leash. Eventually, I was just too fast for the fucking dog. I could run longer too. The dog would pass out halfway and have to lick his balls. ... and a my dog is a good example of what we're designed for physically speaking. Their hunting style is similar to what our natural no guns, and maybe a sharp pointy thing in our hands hunting style is. We can't just run out and catch a deer real fast like a big cat... but can keep chasing that motherfucker and eventually it just gives out in exertion. Prey animals can't take the long game but fucking dish it out in the short game. Chase a deer long enough and you could probably kill it with your bare hands. Scientists have figured out that's how we killed before spears... and that the pussies would just steal meat from big predators.
The human body is pretty fucking amazing when it's used and not sitting on it's ass most of the day eating bullshit.
And then some people worked smarter rather than harder and learned fishing to save energy.
@Honesttguy 200% agree... look how easy guns have made things... big ole fat fuckers that can't run a mile can kill a deer now.
@d_bone_steak that saying is true then, hard times create strong men, strong men create good times and good times create weak men, weak men create hard times. And round and round it goes.
@Honesttguy If we ever meet, I owe you a fucking beer. You're on the level.
@Honesttguy I rarely agree 200%, 2 times in a row.
I put 40+ since 40-50 was the most I ever done and that was when I worked out everyday and was ripped (about two years ago).
I didn't really think anyone here could do anything close to 100 proper pushups tbh with you, but just like you say, some of y'all probably just are on another level that I don't know about.
TBH, I think even the gunt having fatties can do it... they put in the extra work every day and boom... less that 3 months and they'll be doing proper pushups like crazy. I think the secret is to drop the "bro split" stuff where there is rest days and just grind it out.
First off most people don't even do proper push ups. I've seen people who say they can do 50 or more, but then when it comes to doing them they aren't actually doing them.
Like this guy, who does about halfway down or LESS. Chest never hits the floor, not even close.
Or another similar YouTube who doesn't go all the way down OR up, just kind of does a 15-30 degree bend in the elbows bouncing. It's still a workout, but it's not a pushup:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Lrln4Hr9oisHere's an example of a person doing proper pushups, full extension, touching the chest to the ground, arms straight at the top. Also some great examples of variations such as the archer or incline/decline pushups:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/1BpYbEi2QcIAs for me, I've previously been in good enough shape to do more than 50 (proper, or even incline) pushups. Right now, I haven't been training, but I did 21 as in the above video without stopping. I could do another couple sets of 15-20, and some final sets of 10, to get to 100 over a course of 7-10 sets, in under an hour. But I'm so lazy right now :/
15-20 depending on the day. But in my defense, I used to have to wear a back brace for years, and that completely destroys upper body strength. So what I can do now is a lot better than what I used to do. The brace also really messed up my shoulders.
Zero. Never been able to do a real push-up. My arms are too weak. :(

I find them boring. PE was my worst subject in school for this reason.
I prefer cardio, swimming, cycling more
When I was age 17 and took the Physical Fitness Acceptance test for the US Naval Academy, I did 56 pushups in two minutes. The maximum score was achieved with 70 pushups. Several of the guys I tested with managed to do 70.
I don't know. I haven't tried to do as many as possible in years. I normally do 4 sets of 50 reps per set for push ups. I am 6' 255 pounds currently.
Pushups are a terrible way to compare strength though due to a person's weight difference, arm length difference, and if they position their hands in different spots. They may be combining more chest, more shoulders, or mostly triceps depending on their position.
I don't number my pushups. I incorporate jumping jacks and running into mine. I will run about 10 laps around the gym and do about 25 pushups/jumping jacks then run another 10 laps and repeat. I do this 2 times a week for about 90 minutes. I don't do this to show off how many I can do. I do this to build and maintain stamina. I can only guess how many just pushups I can do, but I feel like I can do 200 to 300 easely.
Probably less than 20, but I mean proper ones.
I'll teach the people who think they can do 40 or 50 how to do them properly, on parallettes. Bet they'll be barely able to get to 10...
pretty much screwed on that one now.
I had a shoulder injury while at work and tore 3 rotator cuffs in my right shoulder.
While it is fine, some things I am no longer able to do, and push ups are one of them.
Right now close to 35-40. If I ever get back to the shape I was in during my military service, then around 80-90 before resting in the up position and 120-130 total in a 2 minute span.
Hell yeah... that's the shit.
Right now I can do 60+ but if I'm doing them every day... I'll do sets of 100. So I kept going. Sets of 100 10 times a day, every other day... and then my shoulder popped
And I had to accept that 40+ me is no longer 20+ me. Fuqing sux.
Probably like 12 to 15. Keep in mind, I'm like 300 pounds. When in better shape, I could do 60 easily.
I used to do 4 sets of 20 but I injured my forearm and had to stop. It's been a year and it's still healing.
I haven't done push-ups in ages and I work out 5x a week, but I'd say around 30 to 35, just depends on my energy levels.
I do 30 (with handclaps) most mornings before breakfast. I have done a 100 (regular) in one go before and could of done more.
Maybe 5. I have poor upper body strength. I prefer squats
The most I’ve ever been able to do in one go was over a 100 not sure of the exact number but I think it was around 110.
Maybe like 4? I don't really have any upper body strength.
The most I've done was 30 but I would like to try gaining some lean muscle by working out more.
I used to be able to get to 44 (my highest score lol). Now? I believe I can barely do one.
I can do about 15. I could do many more when I was younger.
50 was required for a karate test I did a month ago, but I don't know if i can do it again lol.
40 plus
In my 20's, I was able to do 250+ before I would tire out. Now, in my 40's, since I hardly ever work out any more, I would say around 50 or so before I crash. Then it's f**king nap time, lol.
I can do 30 but my shoulder really hurts when I do them.
I've never tried to eat more than 1 push up before.
i'm probably as out of shape as i ever was in my life. but i can still easily do 25 at least.
I used to do 30 - 50 when I was in shape... I'm kinda out of shape now I do like 20
In highschool I could do a little over 100 in one go. Now I can only do around 48.
To that girl who can do 50 pushups I want to see that that’s impressive af
@_deeznuts definitely 💪😎
I can do about 50 pushups but I'm quite heavy also.
My shoulder is deteriorating so none lmfao
30 before collapsing!
About 13, I just tried lol but it used to be more
1-10 I'm out of shape

Vs me i did 50 this morning
@RandomGuy1030 omg really?
Yeah but I said that so youd follow me
Not being cocky but I think I can do like 10-20
About 30-40 but I like doing pushups...
I'm at about 20 now
