How many can I do? When I was 17 and took the Candidate Fitness Assessment to enter the US Naval Academy, I was able to perform 56 pushups in 2 minutes. The minimum qualifier was 35 and the maximum score was earned with 75.

I could not approach the minimum number of 35 pushups today.

I could probably do 4 or 5 of these on a warm day if I was hungry.

I could never do a lot of push-ups since the male side of our family has some congenital shoulder problems along with a few other things. I've had my left shoulder operated on and I do not really want to repeat the experience on my right side! But I will eat the push-ups- orange sherbet, preferably. ;- )

Don't know, haven't tried it in a while. As of a few years ago I could do 20-25 *good* push-ups.

Well, I used to compete in Marine Corps physical fitness tests. I wasn't in the Marines - it was a competition they did. They were pretty strict on how things were done. There were two Marines watching different parts of you body to make sure it was done right.
