Muscle contraction and blood flow... lactic acid, anabolic hormones... meaning counting reps and following programs isn't as important as stimulating your body. Same thing with the diet, what works for one may not for another person.
Being overall healthy is required, avoid endocrine disrupting chemicals such as synthetic smells and plastics, pesticides... chaotic non native electromagnetic fields, etc. They will all hurt you on a cellular level and make it impossible to build muscle.
Look at blood flow restriction occlusion training bands, they will help you achieve huge limbs, even with bodyweight exercises.
For best muscle growth, have all 3 macronutrients but adjust it to your own body.

Left heavy iron weights at the gym as much as you can do low reps but many sets no pain no gain drink a lot of protein every 2 to 3 hours and the muscle will come on quickly you’ll have plateaus but work through it
