Ladies, would those of you who have had a tubal ligation or other types of female sterilization be willing to share your experience?

I work in healthcare as a registered nurse and there may be times when a female friend or even a patient may consider procedures such as this one. It occurs to me that I don't know anyone personally that has had a tubal ligation or any other type of female sterilization. I may even consider the procedure myself some day. So, it would be nice to hear some personal accounts about the procecure and any after effects from it. Thanks for those willing to share, feel free to post anon or send me a direct message!

First, I'll start by saying I was told at 18, I wouldn't be able to have children (let me find that doctor now 🙄).. After an etopic pregnancy that was left too long, had emergency surgery, but my right fallopian tube burst on the operating table (yes you can get pregnant with just one)
My next pregnancy resulted in my (now 26 yr old) daughter being born 4-5 months early, was only 1 lb 11oz at birth. . Although my next pregnancy (my 23 yr old daughter) while not as extreme, was still considered high risk pregnancy, and there were some complications... After all that I didn't want to run the risk of having any more children and even though my husband didn't want any more as well, he didn't do anything to prevent it, so I did it myself... Even though a vasectomy is a less invasive surgery than a tubal ligation and even though some doctors won't perform a tubal ligation if under 30-35 and in some cases not without the husband's consent, I was able to get a tubal ligation at the age of, 26-27, keep saying 27, but actually if I was 26 when my second daughter was born and had it not long after, I would have been only 26... And while it seemed like the doctor did seem to try to talk me out of it, he didn't refuse to do it.. I never had any regrets, adverse effects, and it was 💯% affective in preventing pregnancy.. But women should make sure they really don't want children before deciding to have a tubal ligation as they don't just tie the tubes anymore, more cut and burn...
But to me, the better option than to be careless about birth control or use abortion as birth control..
I do feel women should be able to make the final decision about having it done, not the doctor, unless there was a medical reason it couldn't/shouldn't be done..

I know that getting your tubes tied reduces your risk of ovarian cancer by like 50% or 60% which is pretty good.
