    Usually I do this exercise:
    - lay with back on the floor with you legs lifted up like you’re sat (id example near to the bed with legs on the bed and back on the floor. The general figure is with you “sat” on the side of the bed);
    - keeping your shoulders well leaning on the floor, lift your arms and pull your knees towards your chest, gently, using only biceps and not forcefully;
    - release the position and return to sat configuration. Then repeat 10 times;
    - the last time keep the position with your knees pulled to your chest by your arms and start tilting both your legs and your body left. Tilt just a bit, you should feel a little massage on kidneys left area. Then return and tilt right. Then return.
    - keep going with tilting for 20 times total (10 each side).


    I use this exercise to relieve lower back pain from contractions, it usually works well. If you decide to try it, I advice to not force it and to be gentle, if you feel excessive pain you should stop immediately.

      Your advice sounds you have a great deal of expertise in low back pain. I commend you on your comments here. I too started back pain as a 29–30-year-old and have usually kept it at bay with exercise similar to what you suggest plus YOGA now.
      Sorry to hear that a young guy your age at 27 is confronted with back pain.

      Luckily I had anything too serious, it’s only contractions due to stress. It was mainly something problematic in the past, nowadays it’s almost overcome. I learnt these exercise from a yoga teacher, I think yoga has a very positive role in pain relieving and dissolve contractures. Thanks for your contribution and for the wish, I wish you to have a good life with pain relief.

    First, see an orthopedic specialist, to rule out a low back injury to L4 disc, or L5/S1 disc. Then if no injury or disc extrusion, start doing some exercises to strengthen your abdominals and back to support your low back. Yoga is a good place to start.

    I have an L5/S1 extrusion and I get relief from Yoga

    I do stretches, put on icy hot or anicare gel, I also have a heating pad that I put on the microwave and place it on my lower back for comfort, then go to the chiropractor
