I've never been diagnosed as such but I suppose I am in one eye. I can see fairly well with it but I couldn't read anything with it unless it was huge print. I suppose I'm near-sighted but, I rarely ever use glasses. What sucks is that, when I do, they make my eyes worse! I keep asking for corrective lenses but I keep getting this shit that makes them worse!! My first pair of glasses (when I was about 12) worked great!! Every pair I've had since then has worsened them!!

Tell me about it!! The last 3 times I got glasses, I asked for corrective lenses and always got shit that distorts my vision! The first time, I was afraid to walk because it looked like the ground was 10' below me!! That was a waste of $300-some dollars because I never wore them after that first day!! About a dozen years later I went to get a new pair and had NO idea I was actually going to see THE SAME GUY!! It wasn't until AFTER I got them I realized it was the same guy that gave me the last ones!! This time, they weren't as strong but were still distorting my vision. Well, I decided to see if they'd actually help, this time and wore them for a while until, one night, I was looking down the street to see which bus was coming and couldn't tell what it was until it was almost AT the stop!! Normally, before I started wearing those glasses, I could've looked down the street and figured out which bus it was at least 2 or 3 blocks away!! So, I stopped wearing those, too! ANOTHER waste of over $300!! 2 years ago (about 20 years later) because I was considering getting a drivers license, I got new glasses. These weren't as strong or distorting as the last 2 but, they also weren't the best in the world. Again, after wearing them for a while (only for reading) I noticed they were making my eyes worse, too!! As for reading, I could hardly see at all on the computer screen and they only helped when I was reading paper. In as such, I'd wear them on the end of my nose so I could use them to read stuff in front of me but looked over them to read the computer! The past several months, I haven't used them at all and use a magnifying glass to read close up, now, unless I'm JUST reading paper for a while.
The strange thing is, a number of times, my vision actually clears up pretty well (not 100% but, way better than normal) and then it goes back to being shitty, again. I don't know what's causing it to get so much better but, I wish I could make it do that and STAY that way!!

Just looking at the screen or reading stuff. I have this HUGE Excel file (nearly 36,000 items) I've been compiling for nearly 20 years and I was scrolling down quite a way and watching the numbers in the upper right corner so I could find the right spot I needed to be. At first, it was kinda blurry and I could hardly see what I was looking at unless I looked at it kinda sideways. All of a sudden, my vision cleared up and I could easily see that set of numbers! About 10 seconds later, it got blurry, again! Sometimes, all I have to do is blink and it goes blurry again.

I am near legally blind, I may be declared legally blind soon without my glasses. Members of my family are in the same boat. Weirdly though our night vision with out glasses is near 20/20
