Do you miss the COVID-ians?

Where has the time gone? I remember not long ago having COVID-ians screeching in my face exclaiming that paper blue masks can stop viruses of all shapes and sizes. Or that the vaccine was completely safe and that there was nothing to fear. Yet, oddly, one needs to continue to take multiple boosters. Or how about walking into a store not wearing a mask only to see a Karen tremble in fear over one not wearing a mask? Boy, weren't those the days?

I've noticed in recent weeks the COVID-ian demographic has been shrinking. I think it's shrinking due to all the strokin' and croakin' they've been doing. . . you know. . . . those sudden and unexpected deaths we hear about as of late.

With all that said, do you miss the COVID-ians? What was your most outrageous experience you've had with?

I am a nurse and worked during Covid and I can 100% tell you that masks were vital in stopping the transmission. I worked up close and personal with Covid pts and unlike my coworkers who were horrible with keeping their masks on, I never caught Covid. Also we seen a drastic decline in Covid since the vaccine. So I’m sorry you cannot tell me anything about that.

Well I'm an engineer and I can tell you with certainty that no these masks that people were wearing are designed to prevent viral transmission. In fact manufactures and their engineers place warning labels on the packaging stating that blue procedural and N95 masks are not designed to prevent viral transmission. They do this for several reason. Firstly, one so they are not liable for product failure. And secondly, so that the customer uses the mask in accordance in the way that it is designed so that the customer has trust in the product.

Also your claim that "we've seen a drastic decline since the vaccine," care to explain why every major health department in the world shows in their data that the people who ended up in the hospital post-vaccination were those that got the vaccine? Also, the reason why we saw a decline in cases wasn't from the vaccines, but from the natural course that viruses take. They begin extremely virulent, yet their ability to infect is low then they evolve to being more infectious but less virulent. And when a virus becomes less virulent, the likelihood of someone going to the doctor declines. This is one of the reasons during the flu and cold season why it's difficult to get accurate numbers because statisticians and doctors know there many people who do get sick with coronaviruses don't go to the doctor.

The other issue about COVID case numbers is right around the start of the lock down, the CDC changed the definition of 'medical case.' Before the lock down, a medical case had to meet three criteria - the patient had to be 1) symptomatic, 2) test positive for a virus/infection, and 3) seek medical attention. Then In February/March 2020, they changed the definition of medical case to "just test positive."

You mean the Karen's flipping out because they were asked to take a simple precaution like wear a mask? You know that precaution that has proven effective since the fucking plague was around.

Actually no. The blue procedural masks and N95s are not designed to prevent viral transmission. Also, the plague mask used during the Black Death, the herbs inside the mask were good at killing the BACTERIA. Nice try.

You're thinking of a plague doctors mask, and no they were not good at killing bacteria. Nice try. They were stuffed with things like potpourri, to cover the stench of death that the doctors had to deal with.

I'm talking about literal pieces of cloth that people put over there faces. N95 masks and procedural masks didn't exist back then. And the cloth over the face was still effective.

I think everybody has chosen their side in this issue by now, and starting new flame wars over it isn’t accomplishing anything on either side. Ultimately, as it always does, time will tell who was right.
