How can it be a disease to hear speech and not understand what is being said?

It's not like a foreign language. I have such a disease. just like an eye condition (I also have vision loss). I hear what is being said but I don't understand. What kind of disease is this? I know it's a disease of the brain and nerves, but there is no cure for now.

It doesn't sound like a problem with the ear or the nerves, but with the hearing center of the brain, whose function is translating what we hear into what we understand. A neurologist may be able to help you better than any of us here.

yes, that's the problem, but neurologists don't do anything either. He says there is no cure for it. The main specialist doctors who deal with my disease do not do anything about this situation, they investigate other things. I think they'll take care of it when the time comes.

Not sure what they call it. I’m the same way. My language is English but when people talk there are certain sound I can’t understand so their talking sounds like a weird language. I do have a bad hearing loss due to a TBI.
