When will the Pandemic be completely over?

When enough people have contracted and recovered from Covid that herd immunity has been achieved. If society had simply followed the focused protection strategy that was in place in 2019, it would be long over by now- but the insistence on continuing containment and eradication measures that never had a prayer of working has stretched it out interminably.

Note that "end of the pandemic" doesn't mean Covid will go away; it's going to hang around for at LEAST the next few million years. And it doesn't mean that the media hysteria will go away; that'll come up again and again (and again and again and again and...) whenever it's politically useful.

It has already transitioned to endemic status in many countries, though it's still a global pandemic. COVID-19 and its coronavirus will be with humanity for a long time, similar to the common cold and flu, which are caused by similar viruses. WE need to learn to deal with COVID-19.

Viruses tend to mutate down to lower severity because a surviving host spreads it better. So eventually it should just become another nuisance illness, although the fact that it was lab enhanced means that's going to take far far longer.
