For example, you could say that the vaccine is 95% effective, but that's only true for about a month. After a couple of months, it's no longer 95% effective. But maybe the ends justify the means? (The ends being more people get the vaccine.)

I don't think they intentionally mislead people. Right from the start they said it was 94-95% effective of **relieving symptoms**, with zero deaths in the test group.

They came right out and said they didn't know how long the vaccine would be effective.

When the first vaccines came out, they still didn't even know much about the virus. At that time I don't know if they knew it could be spread by asymptomatic people. They knew that pre-symptomatic people could spread it, but that is very different that asymptomatic.

Yes, they were being over optimistic and it showed. But that is not the same as intentionally misleading. The vaccine probably really did save millions of lives. We will never know how many. We will never know how many died from C-19 either, since the reported numbers were very misleading.

Mislead is a very kind word for what occurred. Some people are completely naive as to what a company will do to prove their product (which they’ve invested in heavily) is safe and effective.
